The Care and Consideration Gift

Every choice we make has an impact on our world.

Retrieve of Sweden’s motto is “Made with Care & Consideration – A Lifestyle to Live for!” It is important for us to work with ethical and moral preferences as we realize that every choice we make has an impact on our world.

Retrieve of Sweden’s motto is “Care and Consideration: A Lifestyle to Live For”. In addition to our products being made according to our ethical preferences – in terms of both animal standards and care, how the leather is galvanized and who does the job – it is natural to be able to do something to improve for endangered wildlife and something for the environment. There are many who need help in the world and Retrieve of Sweden has chosen WWF and the polar bear for The Care and Concideration Gift 2018 – 2019.

We choose vegetable tanned leather before artificial materials and other treated leather. Our leather comes from Swedish cows – never calves – as we know have had a good life and are managed according to Swedish standards and laws. The trail that comes from Reindeer is never anything but from adult animals and lives a free life  until the day comes for natural reasons.

Details of metal and our associated cotton bags come from environmentally certified manufacturers.

Our products are manufactured in Sweden and later in Portugal.

Non-toxic manufacturing, as we use only linen thread, beeswax and leather greese containing natural ingredients.

In addition to our durable products, they are biodegradable with good conscience.

RofS Care and Consideration Gift

RETRIEVE OF SWEDEN® gives “The Care & Consideration Gift” to WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature ) and every year we choose the particular species, environmental impact or area we provide with “The Care & Consideration Gift” through WWF.

In 2018 – 2019, RETRIEVE OF SWEDEN gives The Care and Cosideration Gift  to the Polar Bear through WWF – World Wild Fund for Nature!

The polar bears have no enemies besides man who hunted them hard for a long time. The biggest threat today, when the hunt is regulated, is the global temperature rise and illegal hunting. Because of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the Arctic sea melts earlier each year, giving the polar bears less time to hunt and build up the fat reserves for the summer.

In addition, the winter icecream has started to freeze for 3-4 weeks later than usual in many places. This means that stranded polar bears do not come out as usual on the sea ice to chase the seal and fill the fat dwellings. American scientists have estimated that 1/3 of the polar bears may be lost in 2050 because the sea ice is melting in large areas of the Arctic, such as Svalbard, Siberia and Alaska. Read about Expedition Polar Bear in Svalbard.

Other threats are poisons and pesticides carried from south to the Arctic in the north through winds and ocean currents. Some of these chemicals are long-lived organic compounds that accumulate in the arctic food chain. When they reach the top editor, the polar bear, the concentration has reached an alarming high level. When the polar bears starve, there is a high risk that the pollutants will get into the body and weaken the immune system. Unfortunately, the environment is transferred from the mother to the kids via the dairy milk.

What does WWF do?
WWF is working to secure a future for the world’s polar bears. This top editor is an important part of the Arctic ecosystem, and what affects the polar bears also affects all other Arctic species. To find ways to stop the negative effects of polar bears and their arctic homes, WWF works to highlight the threats of climate change and the illegal pursuit.

WWF also supports research on polar bears and the threats to the Arctic. In Siberia, WWF has employed several polar bear patrols, whose main task is to reduce the conflict between hungry polar bears and locals. As the sea ice will melt more and more in the Arctic, there is a risk of increased shipping, mineral extraction and fishing. WWF is working on these issues.
